Did you know that less than 0.4% of major foundation dollars went to support the Asian American community from 1990 to 2002? This is up to us to change. South Asian Giving Circle wants to promote local South Asian giving and raise awareness of important causes for the community. Our goal is to raise and donate pooled resources to support philanthropies, community services, and social change organizations that are relevant to our community. In the process, we hope to promote giving and raise awareness of local issues within the South Asian community. We are starting this experiment in South Asian philanthropy in the Bay Area.
