Niharika Hablani, Marketing & Community Outreach

Niharika’s work with SAGC stems from her desire to help cultivate grassroots organizations supporting South Asian wellness both in the U.S. and abroad. South Asian community resources and philanthropies are too few and far between, and she’s committed to help change that.
Niharika co-manages event planning and fundraising for the SAGC with Vivek. Please contact her if you would like to hold an SAGC event in your space!
Outside of SAGC, Niharika is a designer for 450 Architects, Inc. in San Francisco. She is a Certified Passive House Consultant and is currently seeking LEED Accreditation. She also works with the Foundation for Environmental Education to design solar panels for California schools. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and minor in City Planning from UC Berkeley. Her passion for sustainability, the right to a better quality of life and sensible design drive her within architecture and within the South Asian Giving Circle.
Vivek Patel, Marketing & Community Outreach

Vivek joined the South Asian Giving Circle to promote philanthropy within the community and to support exciting South Asian-related organizations.

Outside of SAGC, Vivek is part of the business development at Slide, Inc. Previously, he worked with Bain & Company. Vivek graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration. He’s a native of the Bay Area, and is an avid snowboarder and techie.
Swati Mylavarapu, Co-Founder

Swati helped found SAGC because she believes strongly in the importance of community giving and public service within the South Asian diaspora.

Outside of SAGC, Swati is a Consultant in the San Francisco office of Dalberg Global Development Advisors, a strategic advisory firm specializing in global development. Prior to joining Dalberg, Swati was an initial member of the Google.org global development team. Swati holds an AB in Development Studies from Harvard University and an MPhil in Economic History from Oxford. She is a recipient of the Truman Scholarship and the Rhodes Scholarship.
Nikhil Kothari, Grant Cycle

Nikhil joined SAGC as a result of looking for a way to have a connection with non-profits beyond just donating funds and to help local groups doing great things within the South Asian community.
Nikhil co-manages SAGC’s annual grant cycle and outreach to non profits that could be potential grantees – organizations that have South Asian ties and are doing great work in the arts, social service or political realms. Please contact him if you are part of or know of such groups.

Outside of SAGC, Nikhil is a TMT Research Manager in the San Francisco office of Gerson Lehrman Group, an expert network providing primary research services to the investors. Previously, he held multiple positions in engineering and marketing at Intel and others companies in the tech industry. Nikhil holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Shyam Toprani, Grant Cycle

Shyam joined SAGC in order to motivate more second generation Indian Americans to participate in community giving and social causes.

Outside of SAGC, Shyam is a Computer Engineer at the Apple Inc. headquarters in Cupertino, CA. Shyam has worked on software for all iPhones, iPad, as well as the last three years of iPods. Besides writing software, Shyam enjoys playing/watching sports, live music, vacationing, and the excellent food offered in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shyam holds a BS in Computer Science & Engineering from UCLA.
